King Salmon (Chinook Salmon) They average about 25-30lb but have been caught weighting up to 56lb in the Deshka river. The King salmon is the biggest of the salmon and you know when they strike. Silver Salmon (Coho Salmon) Average weight is 8-10lb. Silver salmon are known for being very acrobatic and a great thrill to catch. Chum Salomon (Dog Salmon) Average weight is 9-12lb. Chum salmon are always fun to catch. Red Salmon (Sockeye Salmon) They average about 6-8lb and can be a challenge to catch but are known for their firm red meat. Pink Salmon Average weight is about 4lb. Pinks are fun to catch and they return to the Deshka in great numbers in the even years.
